History of the University of Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum

The University of Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum (UHST) was officially established by Sub-Decree No. 24 OrNorkro, Borkor on February 5, 2016, and inaugurated on February 11, 2016. It is a national public university under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) of Cambodia.

UHST was created to expand access to higher education in northeastern Cambodia, particularly in Thbong Khmum province, with a vision to train competent human resources to meet the needs of national development, especially in rural areas. The university now offers a wide range of academic and vocational programs across 17 disciplines through 3 faculties and 3 institutes.
